About Me
My Vision
My name is Jaz Sedmik I am a visual artist based in Canberra, Australia. Over my life I have lived by the ocean and in the mountains, I draw inspiration from these places as well as society and culture. As an artist I believe in the power of visual storytelling. Art has been an important part of my life for many years, it is restorative and allows me a channel to express and tap into my creative energies. The acrylic pour paintings I create combine carefully planned palettes and pouring techniques, vibrant colours in a fluid medium to allow each image to dynamically define itself through the motion of liquid.

Intergalactic #JS0051
Intergalactic is one of my latest works, it will be part of my next collection. Increating this piece I aimed to create an ethereal and expansive atmosphere, evoking the feeling of a distant nebula, a topographical map of an alien world, or even molten lava in the process of cooling, and through the chaotic yet harmonious blending of colors I wanted to express a sense of creative transformation, a kind of “organized chaos” where energy and form continuously evolve together.
From a technical perspective I used a rich mix of warm and cool tones, with swirling magenta, sunset orange, and earthy ochre contrasted by dark violet and subtle hints of forest green, creating a marbled, liquid surface accented with gold flecks that shimmer like stardust or mineral veins, and rather than a single focal point I let the eye move through organic, flowing cells and river-like forms that drift diagonally across the canvas.
